National Level Laboratory Management Training May 2013
 
 

In May 2013 Pudak Scientific has held the National Level Laboratory Management Training for Junior and Senior high school Teachers and Laborants. Training was held on Saturday, May 11, 2013. Acting as the speaker was Ms. Dr. Yunita, M.Pd.

35 people participated in this training. They came from 11 cities representing 5 provinces in Indonesia - (WEST JAVA, DKI JAKARTA, CENTRAL JAVA, EAST JAVA, and North Sulawesi).

Those participants came from:

  • Kota Semarang (IKIP PGRI Semarang)
  • Kota Bandung (Universitas Pasundan)
  • Kab. Cirebon (IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon)
  • Kab. Bandung (MTs Mathla’ul Huda, SMPN 3 Baleendah, SMPN 1 Margahayu)
  • Kab. Bekasi (SMPN 1 Sukatani)
  • Kab. Sumedang (SMPN 5 Sumedang, SMPN 1 Surian)
  • Kab. Cirebon (SMA Negeri 9 Cirebon)
  • Kota Jakarta (SMA Katolik Ricci I, IPEKA International School, SMP Al-Jannah, SDI Al Azhar 13 Rawamangun, MAN 4 Jakarta, Kanaan Global School)
  • Kab. Jombang (SMAN 2 Jombang, SMPN 1 Diwek)
  • Kab. Purwakarta (SMAN 1 Purwakarta)
  • Kota Manado (SMAN 1 Manado)

Participants were invited to discuss the basic knowledge about laboratory including comparison between traditional and modern laboratories. Participants were trained on laboratory administration, equipment and material storage and special tools maintenance.

Some of lab works done by the participants including:

  • Technique / basic guideline in chemistry lab, such as weighing substances using four arms balance, making a solution from solid form based material, making a solution from liquid material, using a pipette filler
  • Power supply experiment using a rheostat, the use of basic meter and multimeter, the introduction to CBES (Computer-Based Experiment System), Ohm's Law experiment
  • The microscope use and maintenance, introduction to digital microscopes and respirometer tools practices

The training was done in 8 hours and participants were required to fill independent tasks to be completed in order to meet the competencies of 2 x 8 training hours.
